CUT and PRINT A LINOLEUM BLOCK! Instructor: Ginger Rembold Start date: Thursday, July 26, (One Night Only!) Time: 6-8:30pm Location: Downstairs Studio Cost: Cost is $10 members, $15 non-members. Children 8-12, with a paid adult, $5 additional. Participants should bring a simple black and white design 4”x6” in size or smaller. Blocks, cutters, ink, rollers, and paper provided. Min. # of students: 4 Maximum: 10 Course Description: Introductory class to basic block printing! Participants will use appropriate linoleum cutters to cut a simple one color block and then print their project.

SPECIAL CHILDRENS MODERN ART CLASS! Instructor: Ginger Rembold Start date: Thursday, August 2th Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Location: Downstairs Studio Cost: $20 for Crossroads members and $30 for non-members. Child should bring a simple photograph or drawing of a favorite animal or flower to use as the basis for each project. Min. # of students: 4 Maximum: 10 Course Description: Introduce your children to four modern artists Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Henri Matisse. In this 3 hour afternoon class the students will produce four works of art in the style of each artist while exploring aspects of design and composition. Snacks provided! Class open to youth ages 8-14 (age 5-7 with a helping adult).

Kids Dance Class (Ages 5-9) (Lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, jazz and Latin) Start date: July 10th 7 classes) Time: 10:00 am - 10:34 am Sessions: July 10th, 11th, 12th, 16th, 17th, 24th, 25th Instructor: Amy Martin Friedman Location: Upstairs Studio Cost: $60 members/ $90 non-members Minimum: 6 Class Description: Ms. Amy will return this summer for two weeks of intensive dance camp. The students will be taught a variety of dance forms from Latin to hip hop, ballet, with contemporary, and lyrical styles fused in. The children need no experience. The classes are fun, a lot of work, a great workout, and the children respond well to my style of teaching which includes discipline and structure. The class mantra is to believe in ones self. Students need or are encouraged to dress in all black: leggings, t-shirt and a soft shoe (no sneakers) are requested. Tee shirts from Ms. Amys dance school are available for sale, as well as photos of the children will also be taken during camp and will be available for purchase as well at the end of the session. Performance/recital will be scheduled to showcase the students hard work for all to enjoy. Course Description: Like to dance to fun pop music? Try the new Hip Hop dance class, fun, easy, and it’ll get your kids moving. Basic Hip-Hop dance moves for beginners. We will learn a routine and perform it at the end of the course. Boys and Girls are welcome! No Break dancing allowed due to the floors at Crossroads. Parents: In the past, Emma has allowed parents to sit in the dance studio. This has created distractions in the class and due to the very small size of our classroom this cannot continue. Parents are invited to sit outside the classroom, wait in the gallery, or take small children and go to the downstairs studio and play (if available.) Tree Branch Loom Workshop

Recommended ages: 5 - 10

Supplies will be furnished for the first 8 participants, children under 8 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. Margaret Mead of La Grande and Vicki Wares of Baker City will be teaching “Branch Out your Creativity” a class using tree branches as a weaving loom. Participants will be given a branch and basic instructions on how to warp it, then create their own spider-web or design of their choosing. Pre-Registration Required
