Saturday June 23rd One Day Only Location: Upstairs Studio Supplies: Students should bring a printed photo of their pet, preferably in black and white, and between 5x7 in. to 8x10 in. in size. All other supplies will be provided by the teacher. Supplies include: drawing pencils, rulers, variety of erasers, drawing paper, handouts, variety of pens, and more. Age Requirements if any: 8+. Kids and adults welcome Skill Level Requirements if any: none, all levels welcome Minimum: 4 Maximum: 16 Learn about pencil drawing and ink drawing, while creating a portrait of your pet! We will do a series of drawing exercises, to learn different tricks for drawing with pencils and pens, and students will finish class by creating a portrait drawing of their pet. Learn how to draw with graphite and ink, while creating a portrait of your pet! We will do a few short exercises and in the process learn tricks for drawing animals, including: how to draw fur and other textures, and how to translate a photograph into a drawing. We will also learn about different kinds of pens, erasers, papers, and inks. Students will finish class by creating a portrait drawing of their pet. Welcome Back to Crossroads Jenna Lechner, Portland, OR Jenna Lechner is an illustrator, teacher, and writer living in Portland, OR. She is currently watching Scandal, drawing, and wearing a knit sweater out-of-season, probably. Jenna studied art and art history in Florence, Italy, and the University of Oregon. She received a bachelors of fine art degree (in printmaking) in 2010. She works in natural media like watercolor, gouache, and pen and ink. She also enjoys paper crafts, print media, and writing profiles in the third person.

We will learn a routine and perform it at the end of the course. Boys and Girls are welcome. No Break dancing allowed due to the floors at Crossroads. Parents: In the past, Emma has allowed parents to sit in the dance studio. This has created distractions in the class and due to the very small size of our classroom this cannot continue. Parents are invited to sit outside the classroom, wait in the gallery, or take small children and go to the downstairs studio and play if available. Hi, my name is Emma McClinton and I have a love of all types of dancing. I actually started ballet older than most, but quickly caught on and found a passion. My ballet company was lucky enough to get to study in Cannes, France. I currently substitute Zumba at the YMCA and have taught preschool in the past.

Kid�s Dance Class (Ages 5-9) (Lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, jazz and Latin) Start date: July 9th (6 classes) Time: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Sessions: 10:00 am- 10:45 AM Instructor: Amy Martin Friedman Location: Upstairs Studio Cost: $60 members/ $90 non-members Minimum: 6 Class Description: Ms. Amy will return this summer for two weeks of intensive dance camp. The students will be taught a variety of dance forms from Latin to hip hop, ballet, with contemporary, and lyrical styles fused in. The children need no experience. The classes are fun, a lot of work, a great workout, and the children respond well to my style of teaching which includes discipline and structure. The class mantra is to believe in one�s self. Students need or are encouraged to dress in all black: leggings, t-shirt and a soft shoe (no sneakers) are requested. Tee shirts from �Ms. Amy�s dance school� are available for sale, as well as photos of the children will also be taken during camp and will be available for purchase as well at the end of the session. Performance/recital will be scheduled to showcase the student�s hard work for all to enjoy. Course Description The well respected Missoula Childrens Theatre is coming back to Baker City three times this year and will perform Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Open to students who will be entering first grade in the fall all the way through High School ages. At each age group only a specific number of children will be cast. The goal is for every child to feel successful. Age Group Maximum Number of Students Entering 1st Grade thru Age 7 16 Age 8 thru 12 27 Age 13 thru 18 17 Assistant Directors 12 to 18 4 Total 60 plus 4 Asst. Directors Missoula Childrens Theatre needs 60 of Baker Countys most talented young talents. The Missoula Childrens Theatre will encourage and inspire our youth in every part of the theatre experience from acting to directing. Performances will be $5.00 per person and our open to the community. Special Thanks to Arlene Schnitzer for her challenge grant at Gala and the hundreds of people who met that challenge at our Gala Fundraiser for Missoula Childrens Theatre. We thank all of last years actors and families who supported MCT. This years goal is to increase our audience for every show by double. So please invite friends and family members to these wonderful shows. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and Children under 13 are free.

Start: Friday May 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, No class on 25th (Memorial Day), June 1st Time: 10:00 - 12:00 for youth 8 - 12 years old Location: Pottery studio Age groups: 8-12 years - 10:00 - 12:00 13-18 - 1:00 - 3:00 Minimum: 3 Maximum: 8 students per session Description: Learn to make art that you can use. This class covers techniques for making functional clay vessels using handbuilding. Areas covered include designing templates, the properties of clay and how to get the most out of the material, and slip glazes and decorative techniques. Students will have making options including pinching, coil, slab, or a combination. Work will be glazed, fired, and returned to students at the conclusion of the class. This is an introductory class that requires no previous experience with art or clay. Continuing students will learn how to construct more complex forms. Aaron Frohnmayer has taught art for over 13 years working with elementary through high school students in Montana, Oregon, Kuwait, and Qatar.
