Summer Dance Camp Instructor: Laryssa Rice Dates: June 24th –June 27th (Last day to sign up – June 23rd) Location: Upstairs Dance Studio Minimum # of students 4 Maximum # of students 15 (Ages 3-5) June 24th -June 27st 9:00 am-9:45 am $40 members/$60 non-members (Ages 6-9) June 24th -June 27st 10:30 am-noon $48 members/$72 non-members (Ages 10-13) June 24th -June 27st 2:00 pm-4:00 pm $64 members/$96 non-members (Ages 14-adult) June 24th -June 27st 5:15 pm-6:45 pm $48 members/$72 non-members Cost is based on age and hours of instruction provided. Instructor is coming from Idaho for the week and prices are based on her rates in Idaho. Wear clothes to move in; ballet shoes, jazz shoes, socks. Course Description: Ballet! Lyrical! Contemporary! Musical Theater! Aspiring performers of all ages are invited to come dance with a professional dancer while learning different styles of dance! Laryssa Rice started her ballet training in Eastern Oregon at age 3. She moved to Boise as a young teen to attend dance classes at BSU under the direction of Marla Hansen and Capitol City Youth Ballet under the direction of Sara Phipps. While attending BSU, she danced with Idaho Dance Theater and many student repertory performances, where she was able to work with different choreographers and dancers. Laryssa also won scholarships to dance intensives, such as Summer Dancefest, Summer Dance Lab and CSI/IDAA camps. While attending a camp, Laryssa was recruited to join Sacramento Ballet in California. She accepted and danced with Sacramento Ballet for two seasons, before moving back to Idaho to teach dance. She has taught at many studios in the Treasure Valley and is very happy to be teaching at Canyon Dance Academy.

Pre- Ballet Swan Lake Dance Camp

Pre-Ballet Swan Lake Dance Camp Instructor: Dianne Guzzle Date: July 29-August 2 (Must sign up by July 26th) Time: 11:30am-12:30pm Location: Downstairs Age requirement: 3-5 years Minimum # of students: 4 Maximum # of Students: 12 Cost: $50 members/$75 non-members Course Description: Dancers will practice basic ballet technique with emphasis on basic movement concepts while learning about the ballet Swan Lake. Dancers will also learn a dance set to music from Swan Lake. This will be presented to parents during the end of the final class on Friday. Miss Dianne danced with Butler Ballet while attending Butler University in Indiana. She graduated with High Honors in Dance, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Dance Pedagogy. In the past she has taught at several studios in Colorado and Idaho. She owned and directed The Terrace Dance Studio in Pocatello for seven years. Miss Dianne was one of the founding members of the Pocatello community dance troupe Kinetikos Dance Alliance. She was the Artistic Director of Dance for the Gateway Center for Theatre and Dance before moving to Boise in 2004 and joining TVBA in 2005. Miss Dianne is married to Patrick Guzzle and they have four children.
