Textures in Clay

Textures in Clay

In October, we will be featuring the Artist Linda Gray McKean, clay artist from Union, Oregon. Linda's fascination with the process of transformation from "mud to stone" began in 1973, and she continues to be fascinated by the mysterious somewhat unpredictable process. Linda's favorite subject matter is turtles! She states "as much as the turtle's shells are their place of refuge and rest, clay has become mine. Their shells have been my "easels" for exploration of textural patterns and color." The claywork Linda will be exhibiting "is a reflection of pattern recognition" that her minds eye has guided her to explore in clay. October First Friday Art Walk will be the 6th of October from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Please join us for live music by Hannah Violette, and refreshments. Crossroads Carnegie Art Center's October exhibit is graciously supported by Britt Sand & Gravel.
