Gold and Light: Paintings Inspired by the Art of Iconography

Gold and Light: Paintings Inspired by the Art of Iconography

“Gold and Light - Paintings Inspired by the Art of Iconography,” a mother & daughter art show by Jennifer Godwin and Abbey Prevot will be on exhibition June 7 through June 29. Using the media of egg tempera, homemade gesso, and gold leaf on boards; paintings of landscapes and non-objective calligraphic meditations will be on display and for sale. "I'm inspired by the beautiful expansive landscapes of Oregon, where one feels the presence of God through His creation. Using egg tempera and gold leaf, I hope to create the luminosity, which is present in landscapes, therefore elevating the artwork toward a heavenly dimension." - Abbey Prevot. The artist reception for Godwin & Prevot will be Friday, June 7, 5:30 - 8pm. Join us for First Friday and enter to win a $25 gift certificate to the Eagle Cap Grill while enjoying the piano talents of Garwood Allen. Gold & Light is made possible through the generous support of Britt Sand & Gravel.
