Batik

Age 12 and up
This is an introductory class of the Indonesian and Indian art of batik, which combines a wax resist process, dye, and fabric. This class will involve hot wax and will run for 2-3 hours.
MATERIALS TO BRING: Participants should bring a simple design idea with a pattern no bigger than 12 x 12” plus a Fine Tip black Sharpie. Stain glass patterns work well for our batik process. Additional hair dryers are also helpful. Dye, wax, fabric and tools all provided. Multiple patterns also available for student use.
Minimum # of Students – 3 Maximum # of Students: 8
Course Cost: $24 members/ $36 non-members
Supply fee: $5 for the Dye, wax, fabric and tools that are provided.
