Course description: The popularity of barn quilting has grown as a means for community togetherness and spurs agri-tourism around the United States and Canada. More than 7,000 barn quilts are mapped on quilt trails through both private and public property. A barn quilt can be anything you want it to be – simple or ornate – but its elements of color, contrast and symmetry are always prevalent, and visually tie it back to the art of heirloom quilting. In this all-day workshop you will make a 2 ‘ x 2’ or 1’ x 1’ quilt block that will be painted on a square board that is for exterior display and uses exterior paints.  All supplies for this class are provided by the instructor. We have a good assortment of quilt block patterns to choose from. If you have a specific quilt design you would like to use, you may bring it with you or contact the instructor ahead of time to see if it is a good fit for this class.
