BATIK BASICS
This is an introductory class of the Indonesian and Indian art of batik, which combines a wax resist process, dye, and fabric. This class will involve hot wax and will run for 2-3 hours. MATERIALS TO BRING: Participants should bring a simple design idea with a pattern no bigger than 12”X12” plus a Fine Tip black Sharpie. Additional hair dryers are also helpful. Dye, wax, fabric and tools all provided. Multiple patterns, also available for student use.
