Art of Ceramic Decoration
Have you taken a pottery class and are now wondering whats next? There are many ways you can embellish and decorate ceramic work, but knowing where to start can be difficult and overwhelming. In this three-part class, you will be introduced to a variety of wet and dry surface techniques, ranging from slip-trailing and inlay, to sgraffito and water-carving, to stain and glaze application, each of which will open up new possibilities for decoration, refinement, and personal expression. Participants are encouraged to arrive the first day of class with 1-3 thrown pieces with which to experiment. Pieces can range from wet (right off the wheel) to leather-hard but shouldn't be bone-dry.
