Making Millefiori Canes in Polymer Clay

Family Friendly!

If you love patterns, you’ll love exploring Millefiori canes! The technique in polymer clay is essentially the same that is used by glass artists to make beads and objects with repeating patterns. Once you know how to construct a basic cane, you can use the technique to create everything! From simple checkerboards to realistic faces, though, the latter is going to take a lot more practice than we’ll have in this 2-hour class. And what do you do with these canes? Create jewelry, magnets, beads, and more from individual slices, or use the slices to create patterned sheets that can become things like clothing and fabric for future sculptures.
