Dawn-Marie deLara

Dawn-Marie deLara, was raised, and now lives in Baker City, Oregon, after 35 years of painting murals and signs, and making/teaching art around the country as a commercial and commisioned artist. Dawn-Marie is a mixed-media artist in the broadest sense of the medium and is an excellent art instructor. She creates worlds, stories, and characters with such whimsy and diversity that the creativity pouring out from her knows no bounds. She creates art with just about anything and teaches the community of Baker, through Crossroads classes, how to spark their inner artisan. Paint, fiber, clay, paper, plaster, wood, metal, polymer and paper clay, collage, and salvaged objects all become new lively creations in her hands.

She has been a professional artist most of her adult life, sold her first pieces of art at 5 years of age, and took on her first Christmas window painting in jr. high school. Dawn-Marie lives out loud about the non-neurotypical brain that nests in her skull after being diagnosed with ADHD in 2022, and celebrates its quirkiness using it as an asset in her artistic endeavors.

"As for my art, I may never be judged the very best in any medium, but having worked and played in so many, I've developed overlapping skills, hybrid techniques, and an ashtonishingly broad body of work. Afterall, what Shakespeare actually said was, "Jack of all trades, master of none, though oftentimes better than a master of one."

Dawn-Marie deLara creates art that reflects the world she wants to live in. One full of joy, delight, kindness, and so much diversity."
