I'm Hillery Lay and I'm a mixed media artist living in Eastern Oregon. I use a variety of mediums, spaces, and symbol markers to add depth to my painting practice. I create artwork rooted in my place and my people. Blending nature with human figures and abstracting both elements allows me to tell the story of my contemporary rural life.

Hillery's work is currently shown at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center and Peterson's Gallery & Chocolatier in Baker City, Oregon. She also participated in Salon:Portland2016, The Studio Visits from the Portland2016 Biennial of Contemporary Art at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland, Oregon. Her recent show, "Yes, there was beer," was shown at the Royal Artisan of Baker City, Oregon in October 2018.
