Artist Statement - I paint to express my love for color, movement and family. I did not choose to be a Western Artist, rather it came to me. My family are fourth generation Idaho Ranchers and I was privileged to have grown up with the rural lifestyle, even though I now live in Boise. I personally call my style funky western, it is expressionistic and impressionistic in both watercolor and oils. I love the feel of a loaded brush moving across the canvas and leaving a fresh clean stroke of paint. I love the sensation of a painting coming together and the anticipation of the next painting.
