First Friday Sponsorships
Your support ensures that this major monthly community event continues, which invites guests to visit and explore Baker City. This vital event celebrates the arts, welcoming locals and guests each month. Crossroads featured shows allow artists to work for two years to prepare an exhibition, and Crossroads staff work to promote First Friday as a community destination event.
Prize Money for January Emerging Artist Show
Your support will provide a cash prize to be awarded via the people's choice process at First Friday to an outstanding Baker High School Student and an adult emerging artist. Each January, Crossroads highlights our emerging artists of all ages the rare chance to have their artwork on display in a gallery.
Prize Money for April Theme Show
Every April, we select a new theme, and local and regional artists are challenged to create artwork around it. A not-to-be-missed show of creativity! Your support will fund three cash prizes, awarded through the people's choice process at First Friday at one of our community's favorite open shows.
Prize Money for September Open Regional Show
Our September Open Regional show is our largest show of the year! Artists from across the region can submit their artwork for a chance to win one of many cash prizes! Crossroads invites a judge to view each piece and determine the winners. This event has grown because of community support!
Anyone can sponsor an award based on what they're passionate about. Love photography? Watercolors? Mountains? You can sponsor an award for the "Best" in each of these categories! More prizes mean more diverse artwork and more tourism to see the show.

Brushstrokes & Byways: Paint Baker County En Plein Air
The 2026 En Plein Air Event welcomed 39 artists from around the country, all coming to paint Baker County. The impact was massive and transformative. With over $4,000 in cash prizes and a groundswell of community support, the show, featuring over 170 pieces of artwork, is featured in five galleries in November 2026.
This event welcomes and invites artists, friends, family, and tourists to explore Baker County.
