FAQS about the new membership program!

Q. Do I receive any membership benefits for my family?

A. In the past, the Crossroads membership program gave you discounts to the gallery or to classes, and special access to certain parts of Crossroads programs. Over the years, the Board began to understand how much these discounts cost Crossroads. It was a lot of money over 63 years and not sustainable. Our donors have been consistent in their intention that they want 100% of their membership to support the operations of Crossroads. This new program ensures this.

Q. We will lose our Member Class Discount - I use that a lot!

A.  No Worries! The Pay What You Can Program has been so successful that it makes the old membership discount an outdated relic. Every patron of Crossroads can utilize Pay What You Can at checkout! Trust us, it will actually make checkout online or in person easier for you and the staff!

Q. When is my Membership Expiration date?

A. Well, this gets a bit trickier. You won't have one.  Our membership was historically a transaction where you, the donor, got all these discounts and access to services, and in exchange you paid us with a membership. So in the new system, we are going to invite you to support Crossroads with an annual membership gift and hope that you will. But if you like to give multiple times a year, then fantastic!  It's not a transaction anymore; it's what your heart wants to give!

Q. How will you notify me?  Will you send reminders?

A. Starting in January of 2027, each quarter we will mail an invitation to make a contribution to Crossroads. We will use 2026 data to guide our process. If you supported Crossroads in the first quarter of 2026 in any way (membership, donation, bought artwork, or a class), we will invite you to support our mission. This quarterly process allows you to budget your traditional gift at the same time of year you have always given. Every month we will send our traditional thank-you letters! But if you sign up for auto-deduct to Crossroads, then we won't send you that invitation, which saves Crossroads and ensures more of YOUR gift goes to our core mission.

At this time, the plan is not to send reminder cards. Did you know that each reminder postcard we send costs $1.16, NOT including staff time? But that could change based on feedback from our donors.

Q. Can I still add on a gift to the Scholarship Fund?

A. Absolutely!  We are setting it up so that you can add additional gifts to all our special fund programs.

Q. My business or organization has been a member in the past- how is that going to work?

A. Good Question!  We now offer a true Business Sponsorship Program!  This allows your business to select which specific program we provide to the community, and your business name will be listed as a sponsor.  Check it out!

If you have a question that hasn't been answered above, please contact Ginger at Crossroads at 541-523-5369.

Become a Member of the Fleetwood Circle

The Fleetwood Circle enables donors to make larger gifts that help Crossroads fulfill its mission. The Fleetwood Circle was named after the founding member and former Children's Librarian, Leona Fleetwood. For these reasons, we chose Leona and Orville Fleetwood's names for the society we will use to recognize and honor those who support Crossroads through planned gifts.

The Fleetwood Circle will honor individuals who provide for Crossroads through wills, trusts, or other estate planning. Recognition will include listing Fleetwood Circle members’ names (with permission) in Crossroads publications and other appropriate materials. Such meaningful donations not only help ensure Crossroads' future, but they also allow donors to achieve personal philanthropic and financial goals.
