Gingerbread Construction
Learn to build your own gingerbread house!
Learn sweet techniques the pros use to make competition-winning gingerbread builds! Learn which ingredients turn gingerbread to gingerboard, techniques to texture the cookies, which icing glue to use, and how to make it less likely to let go, and use some surprising tools from the woodshop.
On the first evening, students will design their project, mix dough, and start to cut pieces to be baked at home. We will have the oven going, but if the class is full, we won’t get it all baked at Crossroads. Large projects may require more dough than provided and be difficult to transport to and from the second class, so ambitious students may decide to only assemble a small part or a sample structure in class and complete their masterpieces at home.
