Journaling for All!
April 16 - June 18
Explore nature more intimately with a sketchbook in hand! The Baker Valley is full of birds, animals, plants, views, a river, and more, all offering endless possibilities for closer inspection, and a nature journal requires you to slow down and really look. If you've wanted to keep a nature journal, maybe been meaning to for years, but didn't know how to begin, this is your class! We will use simple drawing techniques, learn the basics of pen and ink, dabble in watercolors, try colored pencils, and learn a few other ways to preserve specimens. We'll even learn a bit about page layout and lettering to enhance your observations and create a book you will love filling up and looking back at.
Plan to dress for the weather of the evening, as most classes will be held outside.

Date: Wednesdays, April 16 - June 18 (10-week class)
Time: 6:30 - 7:30pm

Ages: Adult Class, but ages 10+ are welcome
Location: Crossroads and outdoor locations around Baker City. The first class meets at Crossroads.
Supplies: Crossroads can provide you with a basic sketchbook, and we have supplies to share in class, but you will likely prefer to have your own supplies for work outside of class. At minimum, you will need a sketchbook, pencil, and eraser. Students may wish to purchase waterproof drawing pens, a small watercolor set, and/or colored pencils. Any sketchbook will do, but students may wish to use one designed for watercolor. Also, if you wish to work in a handmade journal, we will be making a simple one in Artful Alchemy on Friday, April 11, so sign up for that!
Class Size: Min. 3, Max. 10
Skill Level: All skill levels, beginner friendly.
Cost: $210 members / $260 non-members
